Education

The Education Department's mission is to support and expand knowledge throughout the body of Christ. We provide extensive opportunities to enhance natural, spiritual, and biblical knowledge, while encouraging higher education at every level. The Education Department is involved in many facets of support, as we strive to encourage all groups and all ages during the many learning phases of life, both natural and spiritual. Sunday School, Bible Study, Pastoral Teaching, Academic Support, and Scholarships Preparation Sessions name just a few of our general areas of educational enhancement. As mentioned in Hosea 4:6, we desire that none will perish for the lack of knowledge. Come! Let us grow together!!

Evangelist Department

While all departments, auxiliaries, units, teams, and groups are important in our church the Evangelist Department is the one group that can't afford to lay dormant. This department must be actively engaged and alert at all time for evangelism in its' purest form is to take advantage of every opportunity to share the gospel in word, deeds, or actions.

The Evangelist Department mission is to support the overall mission of the Joy Tabernacle of Praise as set by our leader. That is our Mission to reach out to all people and minister to the needs of the total man by manifesting God's love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. And to lead them to experience a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord as we worship together in faith while awaiting His return.

How we interact with one another and those we come in contact with everyday is a form of evangelism that every believer may participate in during the course of your day. But then God places in the heart of some believers as part of the JTOP Evangelist Department to go beyond. Ephesians 4:11&12 "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ."

Men

The Joy Tabernacle of Praise (JTOP) Ministries Men's Department stands in support of the Pastor's overall mission and visions for the entire church. The objectives are to appeal to men seeking to enhance the quality of their lives by serving God. It is our endeavor to have a group of dedicated and God fearing men to be examples for males within our church and community. The men actively participate across the church including receiving training to be an effective witness. Each Man of the Department is a potential fisherman of men to win souls for Christ. It is through the Men's Department Ministry that efforts are made to restore men to their God given servant hood position as worshippers of God and leaders of the family. JTOP have established goals to achieve as we work in the vineyard of the Lord. No list could be all inclusive of the things we hope to accomplish as we grow, but a few are listed here.

It is most apparent that many ministries are lacking in the area of men participating in the church. Therefore, one of our greatest desires is to develop and have in-place a forum to offer the men of our church an opportunity to address their concerns and issues of God's leading men. Joy Tabernacle of Praise church is the platform where the healing begins, strength is given, power is received, and hope is realized for those who seek God. Isaiah 55:6 "Seek ye the Lord While He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near." Isaiah 40:28-31 "Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faineth not, neither is He weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men share utterly fall: But, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint." What is man?

Sunday School

Sunday School is a vital part of our spiritual growth as a whole. In Sunday School we learn how to study and apply the word to our lives, to make references to verses in the Bible to get a better understanding of how to live a holy and separated life of victory and dominion instead of loss and defeat. Proverbs 3:6 instructs us to acknowledge God in all our ways and He will direct our paths. His word will be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. How can we lead a life in the light of God without knowledge of and acknowledging God’s word and its power for our lives. 2 Timothy 2:15 says "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."Â Sunday School is the best place for a believer to develop understanding to rightly divide and apply the "truth" of Gods word through instruction of experienced teachers and the leading and revelation of the Holy Spirit.

It is the department endeavor to provide experiences that give Sunday School attendees the "second wind" they need to give a foundation to living out God’s promises over their lives on a day to day basis.

Come join us in Sunday School were together we can find a deeper understanding of God's word and how to live the life that was set for us by God. Sunday School is not just for exclusive audiences or only church leaders. Sunday School is a place where the entire church body can learn and grow in God together. See you this Sunday at 10:00a.m.

Elder Brandon Williams, Sunday School Superintendent

Sunshine Band

The Sunshine band teaches children about God, Bible knowledge, and rules of ministry and starts children on the path for living holy and productive lives. The Sunshine band will lead and encourage children to set their own spiritual goals. And allow them to express themselves through music, Bible study, mime/praise dancing and worship services which will allow them to lead as well as follow, and also to explore by posing questions and allowing individuality. We want to encourage them to build and maintain a spiritual relationship with God at home, school, as well as church.

"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

- Matthew 5:16

"Suffer little children, and forbid them not; for such is the kingdom of Heaven."

- Matthew 19:14

Women

The Women of Joy Tabernacle of Praise (J-TOP) Ministries Church of God in Christ consists of a variety of women from every aspect of our society. We are women of worth and honor. We are mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, co-workers, mentors, nurturers, public officials, employers, and employees. With such a diverse group of women from different ages and economic status, we endeavor to promote a unity and cohesiveness in the Spirit.

In order for every woman to be nourished and challenged we hold and plan quarterly activities such as Women's Christian Council, and weekend retreats to promote fellowship and spiritual growth; additionally, annual conferences are held to uplift, encourage and unify the women of J-TOP and the nearby community. We hold intimate classes to address very personal female challenges. A woman is uniquely designed by our Creator to carry and preserve life; therefore, we must nurture and build the queen inside each of us. Each woman has a place and purpose in the plan of God and our First Lady and her staff solicits the aid of the Holy Spirit to identify and assist each woman of worth's gifts and push them toward their destiny. We fellowship not only inside of J-TOP's walls but outside as well. "We minister to the saved and the unsaved because the hand that rocks the cradle may indeed influence the world; and, we want to influence our world for Christ".

Evangelist Sandra G. Williams, President
